"We are striving to bring a stronger and louder Native voice and presence to the music industry." - Stepha

Uruguay is on their way to becoming an vibrant force in the realm of Anti-Pop. Taking a grungier approach to the genre with their three singles to date, the group harnesses influences from SOHN and dark narratives like FKA Twigs, Billie Eilish, and Radiohead.  These inflections have been translated into a lively kaleidoscopic of sonic waves through which their organic production and haunting vocals unknowingly draw you into their world.

Ben and Stepha's live show mixes a unique intimacy and emotion that leaves an undeniable lasting impression.  Although they have only officially been a band for a little over two years they have played venues such as The Echo (LA), Pianos NYC, Mercury Lounge, and SOBs.  Uruguay has also graced the stage for Mondo NYC and We Found New Music.

“Stephany Murphy’s vocals are deceitfully soulful, brimming with emotion but only ones that appear to have been hardened over time. She carries the tune effortlessly, without affectation, almost like a specter.” -The Deli Magazine

“Stepha Murphy is a badass.” -PRØHBTD

"Showcasing soulful vocals gliding atop eclectic instrumentation, you can feel the magnetic spark of excitement as they finally discover the underlying charm on the city of angels." -Earmilk
